Goodie Two Shoes

by Janelle Davis

Since 2003, The Goodie Two Shoes Foundation has provided over 110,000 disadvantaged children and children in crisis in Clark County, Nevada with new shoes and socks, as well as other items deemed essential for good health and positive development. During the 2019 – 2020 school year alone, over 9,000 children received new shoes and socks thanks to Goodie Two Shoes.

After COVID-19 forced Goodie Two Shoes to cancel their last four shoe distributions in March and April, they instead helped 3,000 children in low-income families who would normally qualify for shoe resources receive crisis weekend food packs. 9,000 food kits were delivered via Serving Our Kids Foundation’s (SOK) distribution outlets. In addition to their weekend food packs, Goodie Two Shoes worked alongside Teachers Health Trust to send 260 creative bundles to students who were not able to leave their homes due to COVID-19 symptoms or exposure.

But Goodie Two Shoes didn’t stop there. Since the beginning of COVID-19, Goodie Two Shoes provided 840 children with 5 pairs each of new Bombas socks in partnership with SOK’s Friday drive-thru food distribution. With the help of the Las Vegas Bowl Huddle Committee, Goodie Two Shoes also provided a custom coloring book and crayons to provide some creative joy to home-bound students.

Goodie Two Shoes knows that flexibility in a time of crisis is critical to ensuring the well-being of the community’s most vulnerable children and they are thankful to Wynn who helped support Goodie Two Shoes in their pivot from shoes and socks to creative kits and meals. As Goodie Two Shoes has said, “It was great to help bring smiles and a little joy to thousands of families in need.”
