Encore Boston Harbor Asian Marketing Colors Cards of Positivity

by Windy Pham

During this difficult time, many people have a desire to help and support those in need. Cheuk Chan, Director of Domestic Asian Marketing, feels the same way. Cheuk has been very passionate about giving back to the community. While we have been staying at home, Cheuk has been encouraging his team to participate in virtual volunteer activities.

Cradles to Crayons is nonprofit that provides children from birth through age 12, living in homeless or low-income situations, with the essential items they need to thrive – at home, at school and at play. They are preparing for a back-to-school initiative in the fall, in which they aim to prepare 65,000 backpacks full of school supplies to distribute to students across the Commonwealth. During National Volunteer Week, the Encore Boston Harbor Asian Marketing Team created over 4,000 cards with supportive and enthusiastic messages for students. In addition, the team also decorated these cards with fun drawings and words of encouragement to bring joy to kids this school year.

Cheuk said: "It is more rewarding to give than to receive. We feel like at this time we have to give out more positive energy.  See the beauty of humanity at the most critical moment; together we can make a difference!”
