Wynn Las Vegas employees are guided each day by the company’s Values and Core Behaviors. When the company was temporarily closed, Hotel Sales, Services and the Travel Industry Team at Wynn Las Vegas were inspired to show gratitude and support our local community at the same time.
Kawtar Benabderrahmane, International Group Sales Manager for Wynn Las Vegas & Encore was the driving force behind this initiative. She shared that the teams were inspired to help as Wynn had committed to paying employees throughout the closure. Many team members were aware that local restaurants were affected by mandatory closures and were also aware that healthcare professionals were working tirelessly to treat individuals affected by COVID-19.
Over 30 team members contributed funds to feed 300-450 healthcare workers at three separate hospitals! Being entrusted by the team to find a restaurant that could deliver a large order on short notice, Kawtar reached out to her friend Luis Marin, who also works with Hotel Sales. Luis recommended Above the Crust Pizza, an established community restaurant that has three locations around Las Vegas – an added bonus was that these locations were all conveniently located next to the hospitals for delivery... Sunrise Hospital, UMC, and Spring Valley Hospital!
Kawtar mentioned that Above the Crust Pizza were great work with. The manager, Joey, didn’t balk at a 55-pie order for same week delivery, and in fact was happy to have all three locations create the pizzas and participate in the initiative. He even arranged for each location to include a sign on the pies that stated the pizzas were from Wynn Hotel Sales, Services, and Travel Industry Team!
